How to Print Your Pottery Templates (So They Come Out the Right Size)

|Fran Aldea

For the best results, please follow these steps before printing:

1. Download Adobe Acrobat Reader (free) Visit get.adobe.com/reader and install the free version. Avoid printing directly from your browser or Mac Preview — these apps can resize, compress, or misinterpret the file, which may cause alignment issues or send your printer into a processing loop.

2. Open the PDF in Acrobat Reader Once installed, right-click your downloaded file → Open With → Adobe Acrobat Reader.

3. Print settings

  • Set paper size to [Letter (recommended) / A4]

  • Select "Actual Size" (not "Fit to Page" or "Shrink to Fit")

  • Turn off "Auto-Rotate and Center" if prompted

  • Print a test page on plain paper before using your good paper

4. You're ready! Load your paper, hit print, and enjoy your template.

💡 Tip: If your printer pauses or takes a long time to start, it's likely processing a large file. Acrobat Reader handles this much more efficiently than Preview or browser-based viewers.
