Booklet note

Four vessel templates. Mix the sections. Make something new.

What this template is for

A bundle of 4 slab-built vessel templates — Amélie, Balaustre, Fiera, and Margarita. Each is drawn from a vessel Matisse kept in his studio. Buying the bundle gets you all four vessels plus the freedom to mix sections across them.

Who it is for

Potters who want a set of slab-built vessel templates, makers who like to mix and match silhouettes, or anyone who wants Amélie, Balaustre, Fiera, and Margarita in one go.

How to use it

  • Print the templates from the digital PDF, or use the pieces in the physical booklet.
  • Roll a slab to around 3 to 5 mm thick and let it stiffen.
  • Cut your slabs, build in alphabetical order, attach the base last.
  • Mix sections from different templates to create entirely new silhouettes.

What is included

  • Full-scale templates for all four vessels: Amélie, Balaustre, Fiera, and Margarita
  • A printed assembly sheet for each vessel, with specs and build sequence

Finished sizes

Amélie approximately 15 cm, Fiera approximately 12.5 cm, Balaustre and Margarita approximately 11.5 cm. Each is drawn at the scale it sits in its painting, so the four stand at different heights on purpose. Dimensions assume clay shrinkage of 10 to 13%.

Product FAQ
How do I print these templates correctly?

Print at 100% scale or Actual Size on A4 or US Letter. Do not use Fit to Page or automatic scaling. Each vessel's sections are labeled to match its assembly sheet.

Do I need a pottery wheel?

No. All four vessels are built from flat slabs using the printed templates. No wheel, no throwing.

Which one should I start with?

Margarita is the most beginner friendly, then Fiera. Balaustre and Amélie are advanced, with more sections and handles to join. Build them in whatever order suits your confidence.
