What this template is for

Printed booklet with slab templates for three small decorative vessels: Vuelo, Laja, and Canto. Includes a clay marbling guide for patterned surfaces.

Who it is for

Beginner and intermediate slab builders who want to experiment with marbled clay and small sculptural forms.

How to use it

  1. Print the templates from the digital PDF, or use the pieces in the physical booklet.
  2. Prepare a marbled slab following the guide, or use a single clay body.
  3. Roll the slab to around 3 to 4 mm thick and let it stiffen.
  4. Cut the pieces for each vessel and assemble using the booklet instructions. Dry slowly, bisque and glaze.

How do I print the templates in this booklet correctly?

This templates is design for Letter size paper. If you have A4 use Fit to Page or automatic scaling.

Do I need a pottery wheel to build these vessels?

No. All three vessels are designed for slab building, so you can build them without a wheel.
How do I adjust the templates for clay shrinkage?

You can scale your template when printing. Use your print settings to adjust from 100% to a lower or higher percentage. Templates are suitable for clay that shrinks around 10 to 13%.
